About
Owners and Technicians

Doug Cannon (DC)
is the founder and president of Marine Refrigeration Solutions, LLC.
DC has a passion for educating operators about how their equipment functions and how to use their systems effectively. He is an accredited adjunct professor with the UAF (University of Alaska at Fairbanks).
When not out in the field, DC can be found working on cars, running an excavator or chainsaw, riding dirt bikes, or teasing the grandkids.
He has over 20 years of experience in the fields of marine refrigeration service, refrigeration development and design, industrial hydraulics, marine electrical, welding, manufacturing and production management.
Prior to starting this company DC spent 15 years as the shop manager and lead service technician for Integrated Marine Systems (IMS), streamlining production processes, building and installing refrigeration units, and troubleshooting customers problems over the phone and in the field.
DC started Marine Refrigeration Solutions in 2013 with a vision to empower and educate fishermen and operators.
In 2024, he restructured the company into Marine Refrigeration Solutions, LLC with Robert Cannon as a part-owner in order to continue growing as a business.

Robert Cannon (RC)
shares his father's passion for excellent service and building outstanding equipment. He is an owner of Marine Refrigeration Solutions, LLC.
Along with his experience as a refrigeration technician, RC is a marine diesel mechanic, has experience as an ABYC certified marine electrician and is a marine systems engineer. He is at his happiest when designing a complete engine room refit.
He joined M.R. Solutions full time in 2020 after five years of working with the Port Townsend Shipwright’s Co-op.
He brings strong design capabilities to M. R. Solutions team with years of CAD drafting in Fusion360, practical hands on time with materials applications, and an uncanny ability to explore mechanical objects inside his brain.
RC also has a history of educating, especially around vessels; first as a SeaScout teaching skills to other troop members, later as a youth sailing instructor on the East Coast, and now as he teaches Marine Refrigeration classes with DC and explains troubleshooting steps over the phone.
RC is "upright, and mostly mobile," and when not designing or building marine systems, can be found elbows deep in a dump truck engine swap, at a local coffee drive through, milling lumber, or patiently teaching a kid how to drive a tractor.
Paperwork Ladies

Juanita Maples
is our fabulous bookkeeper and office manager.
She joined the company part time in 2020 and is basically the queen of paperwork around here.
Extremely meticulous and detail oriented, Juanita brings great organizational skills to the team.
She passed M. R. Solutions RSW Operators class in Nov. 2023.
Juanita travels to Alaska with the team during the summer, logging gauges during peak season start up and assists with streamlining paperwork in the field.
She loves river rafting, riding trails, gardening, frogs and much, much more!

Elisabeth Cannon
is operations manager and chief wrangler.
She handles scheduling, parts sourcing, shipping and handling, RFQs, and most email communication.
She jumped in to help with scheduling for the 2021 Bristol Bay season and the rest is history .
If you call the office with a question, chances are you'll talk to Elisabeth, and (sorry) there will probably be a kid talking in the background.
A homeschooling mom of four, she loves meeting new people, bird watching, baking cookies and the big open skies of Dillingham, AK!
